500 g new potatoes, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper
1 medium cauliflower, broken into floret’s
1 garlic clove, skinned and crushed
Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
180 ml fresh single cream or buttermilk
60 g Cheddar cheese, grated
Pre heat oven 180°C (350°F) mark 4.
In a pan boil the potatoes in salted water for 5 minutes.
In an oven proof serving dish layer the potatoes and cauliflower.
Mix together the cream, garlic and nutmeg and then pour over the potatoes and cauliflower.
Sprinkle over the cheese.
Cover and cook for 40 minutes.
Take of the lid and grill until browned.
